My Blog

Happy Labor Day
Today, my hat goes off to all you working men, and women. First of all my gratitude goes far back to my grandfather, and parents who taught me the meaning of hard work. My grandfather was a pioneer in building Americas railroad system. They are truly the hardest working, dedicated, reliable, and trustworthy group. A superior quality to posses as a employee. My hope for this day is that everyone be true to themselves and posses a job that is a reflection of their talents. Most have to work and adapt to find their "dream job" - similar to finding that "one" home or property. Once you find it you will know. I've been front and center witnessing that amazing meeting of a home and their new homeowner. With much excitement, I am looking forward to meeting my future clients. In my career I meet many people. I feel that my service as a Realtor is entirely rewarding. I look forward to helping you find your home sweet home!

There are a number of easier ways to aid buyers in becoming homeowners. Here is one good suggestion...If you are going with an FHA loan, Your down payment will be 3.5 % of the sale price. FHA is accepting money given to a buyer through a gift. As long as you provide where the money came from. The lender needs to verify this, so it's a good idea to sign up for this ahead of time. Since very unique registries are becoming the norm these days. A person can sign up to recieve gifts that range from honeymoon funds, charitable donations, cooking classes, and yes even the downpayment of a home. The gift giver is at ease knowing it will be put to good use. And to the homebuyer, they just might appreciate it more than your typical toaster. Let me know if you are needing help with a downpayment, we can come up with a creative solution. All you have to do is ask and the worst thing they can say is no.

At lease that's what my calender says. Summer Solstice is today June 20th. So I have to give it the respect those astronomical genius gave it. If you live anywhere near South Texas you know our summer started way back in April. The feel of oven-like temperatures cooking your locked car. But along with that heat you have to feel some sort of yearning for swimming, snow cones, the beach, camping, vacations, sleeping late, staying up late, end of school, craft projects, baseball, sandals. Last week I went in search for the game chinese checkers. Still can't find it. Everyone has their own summer experiences that brings on the beginning of something new. So enjoy your summer solstice today. Make it last and make the best of this day. Whatever it is that takes you to a place of freedom...I hope you get there. If you are looking to buy a home or sell an existing home, lot or commercial property as your new beginning, call me and we could discuss the Real Estate Market in San Antonio. 210-268-3564

I often feel that I have the same person calling me on a daily basis. Only because I get a similar question addressed. They are usually buyers wanting to view a certain home in San Antonio. One top question is "Can I view the inside of this home? " Well yes and no. As a buyer wouldn't you like to know what your monthly payment, taxes and insurance would be? It's as if you are shopping for event tickets or a pair of shoes or even groceries without knowing what your price limit is. It is very easy to take an application and get you information on the same day. Getting an approval is the first step in purchasing a home. Then will a licensed Realtor in San Antonio show the inside of a home. Then you are on to the next step, Another much asked question " Will you take $XXX,XXX.XX for the home ?" I know we are in a soft market, however... most listing agents have priced a home according to the homes sold in that neighborhood. Those foreclosed, short sale, and REO's are already drastically under market price. Granted some may need more work than others. I believe you should trust a Realtor to help in that early process. There are so many more questions from a buyers perspective. This is all part of the journey to purchase.

One wonderful summer, my sisters, mother and I visited my aunt and uncle in Mexico. It was our very first time meeting my cousin so, I was excited about this foreign land she lived in and I had always heard interesting conversations about. We thought it would be a nice gesture to bring her a gift. She was the only girl among boys so we bought her a Malibu Barbie. We sat and played with her that evening with our trunk load of barbies and accessories. Years later we visited again and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw standing on a shelf in her room. That very same Malibu Barbie. Shiny and clean hair with gleaming white teeth and her bathing suit! "What? she didn't play with this Barbie?" She didn't play with her outside like me and my sister did? This is the same feeling I got last week when I listed a home. This home in Westover Crossing, has bedrooms that have never been used. Clean and new carpet. It is amazing you have to see this one. That's what I like about being in Real Estate. The details you see and the possibiities that home will bring to a buyer.
